It has HDMI connections!

I am glad that the Zenithink ZT-280 C91 Update Tablet PC is equipped with HDMI. Even though it is mini HDMI, I can get connected to my LED or LCD television with no problem at all. With the HDMI, my tablet produces uninterrupted quality of images at all times. Thanks to this Chinese gadget, now I get access to a plethora of choices when it comes to watching online movies.

The touch screen of the Zenithink ZT-280 C91 Update Tablet PC is really impressive because it is supported by a G-sensor in four ways. Without the G-sensor, I am sure that my viewing experience would be very slow and boring.

I own the older version of Zenithink ZT Tablet PC and now I bought the new one which is Zenithink ZT-280 C91 Update Tablet. Compared to the last version, this Chinese tablet is still rather small in it processing power. In addition, I can’t make or receive calls from this tablet. Overall, there is much room for improvement and I hope the manufacturer will at least include a 3G phone feature when the next version is launched.

What I got from the Zenithink ZT-280 C91 is simply amazing. Here are a few things I loved with the Zenithink ZT-280 C91 Tablet PC…
The pros…
- It had a fast 512MDDR program, which gave me fast access to Android applications
- I get access to Google Play, and I had time to download some of my favorite apps
- It had the Cortex A processors, which I assessed are the reasons why I had faster access to my programs
- The 8GB NAND memory is quite astounding, and I got to store as many videos as possible. In fact, I get to store even more private files.
- The Wi-Fi connection is quite reliable of this Tablet PC, and I was able to hook to my favorite social networks such as Facebook and Twitter
The cons…
- Basically, none, although I do wish there was a back camera. On the other hand, I am actually quite satisfied with the front one.
Plus, one good thing that I really found with this Tablet PC is that I bought it from China Tablet Shop, and I was amazed how they offered Worldwide Shipping.

Pretty much bang for ther buck

So what does a ZT280-C91 , 10 inch tablet give you ? (Labeled Zenithink i might add.)
Pretty much bang for ther buck, positive possibilities one could call it.

- ARM Cortex A9, 1 ghz CPU
- Wifi b/g
- Front-camera , 2Mpix
- MicroSD cardslot.
- 8GB memory on the internal SD card.
- Earphones included.
- HDMI out , with 1080p capabilities.
- Usb-device and host-porta (With included cables)
- Ethernet (rj45-adapter)
- User manual.

This tablet feels a bit heavier than for instance the Flytouch 5, this possibly due to the screen , which is a capacitive one. (Pressure on it is a lot more responsive than on a resistive screen. )

The screen-response on the ZT280-C91 is good, colours are shown properly aswell.
Edges of the tablet and construction as a whole feels quite solid and stable, no creaking sounds when i press and bend a little on it.

The operating system on this one is the latest from Google, Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Also called ICS .
The installed software is slim. You have your file manager, browser, video-player, music player and gallery app. Standard apps that will get you started , the rest if up to you to bring home from Google Play for instance.

We tested games, watching movies , read e-books on this tablet and there were no issues during these activities . It all works as it should.

While playing music through the internal speakers or headphones the volume felt a bit low, with a good quality nonetheless.

When playing MKV files from a USB memory stick there was some lag, which disappeared when playing the same file from internal storage. (Micro-SD card, and internal SD Card.).
My four year old son was at first a bit reluctant to use the tablet due to the size.

But after a while Angry Birds and Drag-racing games became evening favourites for him and the large form-factor issue was a memory of the past.

ZT280 is an excellent tablet for home-use, browsing, movies, games , email and music if you will.
The android version of ICS was still under development a t the time of writing this article, and Zenithink actively developed new versions of it.

The placement of the Power-button is a bit awkward, on the bottom edge just next to the outlet for the power adapter .
Not a big issue, just a weird design decision in my opinion.
Battery-life in standby is good, and gets even better if “NoBars” or equivalent apps are used. This to disable the 3G cell scanning which is uneccesary for this tablet without a 3G dongle, since this is not built in. Wifi is the default connectivity method or via the RJ45 adapter for wired Internet.
There is an option to use a custom rom , where the GPS and Phone-modules have been removed completely , but remember this is not endorsed or recommended to use from the manufacturer or supplier . You are in risk of voiding your warranty in using other than Zenithink provided software to run the tablet.

Closing comments:
As a whole this tablet feels like a decent unit for using at home or on a trip.
The lack of a 3G modules or GPS can easily be amended by buying external peripherals for these functions.
This is a solid Android tablet, ICS on-board for a good user experience.

It has potential for home-use, and even outside of your home with the appropriate products connected depending of your needs of course.

With ZT-280, and a USB keyboard for instance , the road away from your standard desktop pc is about to start.
